Open PDF Links With Google Docs

PDF/PPT/TIF viewer with Google docs is a free Greasemoney script that can help you open PDF links with Google Docs. Keeping aside it’s long annoying name, it seems quite handy. We all know that the official Adobe Reader is resource hog and have listed various alternatives for you, but what we have missed is the online integration with the browser.

The official Adobe Reader integrates perfectly with Firefox but the problem is that it eats up lots of memory and is quite slow. If you have uninstalled it, then the integration with the browser will be removed as well.
This is where you can use this greasemonkey script, once installed you will then be taken to Google Docs every time you click a PDF, PPT, or TIF link. But this greasemonkey script is not only for Firefox, but also works with Opera and Google Chrome.

Open Documents In Google Docs Viewer By Default In Firefox

onsider yourself in a situation where you’re working with some document files, and suddenly you discover that you do not have the appropriate software to handle these file types. In our work routine, sometimes we need to reinstall quite a few applications, or set up a PC a fresh, and the first day when you’re running a barebone OS, coming up against a PDF or DOCX document over the internet before you can install any PDF reader or Microsoft Office can be really irritating.

Suppose another situation where you want to open a PDF file quickly but do not want to wait for the bloated Adobe Reader to open it for you. Ofcourse we have alternatives to Adobe Reader but opening the file online is quicker.

Remove Video Streaming Restriction From MegaVideo, MegaUpload, And Veoh

t can be quite annoying when certain videos online are simply not available due to limitations that block users from accessing them beyond a certain level. For example, there are restrictions on MegaVideo that bar users from viewing more than 72 minutes of video streaming. The Illimitux extension, however, circumvents such boundaries and allows Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox users to move freely across the realms of unchartered video streaming websites.

VTZilla - Addon Integrating Multi-Engine Antivirus Scanner VirusTotal With Firefox

Multi-engine anti-virus scanners are a great help when dealing with suspicious files as you are able to leverage the malware detection capabilities of multiple antivirus engines with most up-to-date definitions from a single interface. VirusTotal has been one of the most well-known such free service offering scanning of suspicious files and URLs with 42 anti-virus engines helping users reveal viruses, worms, trojans and other kinds of malicious content.
One of the most needed feature to make efficient use of multi-av scanning services is an browser helper utility which would enable users to scan URL's and files right from their web-browsers before visiting the suspicious link, thankfully VirusTotal team has realized this and a Firefox web-browser addon VTZilla is now available enabling users to right-click any suspicious link and launch a VirusTotal URL Scan and even pre-scan a file before downloading from the default "Firefox Download Save" dialog-box.

Using VTZilla to scan a link will only present you with the URL scan report and you must click "View downloaded file analysis" link to make VirusTotal actually download and scan the file via their multi-engine antivirus scanner.
