The “Wave1″ setup installers of the SP1 contains all 36 major languages: Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese-Hong Kong SAR, Chinese-Simplified, Chinese-Taiwan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese-Brazil, Portuguese-Portugal, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and Ukrainian.
SP1 mainly contains bug fixes and hotfixes which the number is over 625, and patches causes of BSODs, handle leaks, memory leaks, deadlocks, performance issues, multi-monitor issues, inter-process issues, application compatibility, improvement on virtualization, and Windows 7 graphics platform updates. It does not add major features into the operating system.
Note that all prerequisites for SP1, if any, should be installed automatically by the full version setup installer downloaded above. So it’s not necessary, in fact not encouraged, to manually install the updates unless you’re installing the SP1 through Windows Update. One such update, KB976902, is intended for those who have previously installed a beta version of the first service pack (SP1) so that the beta software can be easily uninstalled and to smooth out any problem that may be encountered with upgrade to final RTM version of SP1.
